After School Program

Provides tutoring and assistance with homework and study skills, provide instruction in cultural education. The overall goal of the program is to provide assistance to the students so that they can obtain the greatest benefit from the community resources to enable a smooth transition into the United States while helping them to maintain their culture and heritage.

Women’s Services

Provides instruction pertaining to health issues and concerns, as well as provide assistance regarding domestic violence issues. The overall goal is to provide a positive transition from Somali culture/society and past experiences of trauma into a healthy physical, emotional and psychological life style.

Settlement Assistance Services

Meets with families to introduce them to the SCCP and its services, assesses their need for housing, school enrollment, medical assistance, English as a Second Language and/or GED classes, as well as translation services. The overall objective is to enhance individuals in become financially stable and self-supporting in order to better provide for themselves, their families and community.

Employment Assistance Services

Utilizes community contacts with employers and employment agencies to assistance with the completion of job applications and job placement to enable individuals to become financially stable and self-supporting in order to better provide for themselves, their families and community.
